  • Network Places Connection Guide

You can map your CheapFTPSpace online storage as a "Network Place". This will result in a new folder being created on your local computer which, when opened, connects to your online storage account and allows you to transfer files to and from the online storage.

How to connect using MS Network Places

  • Click the Windows Start Menu > Select "My Network Places"
  • Click "Add a network place"
  • Click "Next"
  • Select "Choose another network location" and Click "Next"
  • Type ftp://ftpusername:ftppassword@serverip in the "Internet or network address" field (substituting "ftpusername", "ftppassword" and "serverip" for your actual information as per your FTP user settings)
  • Click "Next"
  • Give the storage connection a name and then click "Next"
  • Click "Finish"
  • The network place is now accessible from "Network Places". To add a link on your desktop, right-click the storage icon that you created and click "Send to" > "Desktop (Create Shortcut)".
